Venting is the act of expressing the emotion on your chest to clear your thoughts and make you happier. The very nature of human existence requires venting to get through the day. We live chaotic lives with baggage we pick up daily. Unloading these thoughts, both angry and good, can help us to become better people.

AllStar Lee realizes and practices the power of venting in his new song, aptly titled “Venting.” The Detroit-bred rapper, responsible for the viral “Fresh Prince of Brick Mile” brings that same strong sense of lyricism and bravado in a simple visual that relies on the narrative work at play for success. Spoiler alert: it works, great.

Bay Area Spotlight: @Rezn_ Brings The Mellow Vibes With “Colors Of You”

Published

on

Bass-pounding beats in hip-hop never get old, but, it never hurts to play things a little softer and smoother. We’re not even referring to R & B music, just rap with a calmer vibe. Something that you can nod your head to and sip from on a cool summer night. Rezn’s new jam “Colors Of You” is a serious, introspective record that looks at his own insecurities as well as those of the women he encounters but also manages to be a chill Saturday night song. Vocalist Breana Martin sings smoothly on the chorus, adding to the amazing overall package. Rezn’s flow is nice, but his ability to steer the song into cool waters is what makes it a gem.

Published

When OG Maco released “U Guessed It” at the tail end of 2014, hip-hop received a much-needed facelift. The chaotic energy on display in the track was unlike anything in the market and it contributed to the song’s viral nature. Since then, releases have followed the format, but nearly none have been able to successfully match the song’s energy and the video’s tenacity. That’s changed with Slimmy B and DABOII ‘s new video for “Gang Gang” an energetic and colorful manifestation of an already vibrant track. The two artists perform the song as the camera swings wildly around them and the energy practically flows from them. It’s surely a hit for the warmer months as it will continue to get spins from us for a long time.
