Venting is the act of expressing the emotion on your chest to clear your thoughts and make you happier. The very nature of human existence requires venting to get through the day. We live chaotic lives with baggage we pick up daily. Unloading these thoughts, both angry and good, can help us to become better people.

AllStar Lee realizes and practices the power of venting in his new song, aptly titled “Venting.” The Detroit-bred rapper, responsible for the viral “Fresh Prince of Brick Mile” brings that same strong sense of lyricism and bravado in a simple visual that relies on the narrative work at play for success. Spoiler alert: it works, great.

Schoolcraft Bone and GT question your pockets in “Last Long”

Published

on

“How your mans doing bad if your cash long?” GT inquires towards the middle of “Last Long,” Schoolcraft Bone’s exhilarating new trap cut. The simplistic visual features both artists hanging out and flexing stacks of cash so big that you get nervous that they’ll slip out of Schoolcraft’s hands as he holds them. Schoolcraft’s flow is out of this world good, spitting some real shit that’ll make you identify with his message. GT comes in with his usual barrage of quality street raps that makes him one of the city’s elite.

OTM Mitch and Joy Rd Mar make a nostalgic banger with “Pain”

Published

on

There’s power in the nostalgia of 90s rap, the synthy beats that acted as the most vibrant of the pack of boom-bap beats that became the industry standard. OTM Mitch and Joy Rd Mar have encapsulated this 90s aesthetic in “Pain” ¬†thanks to its crisp production. The video itself is pretty simple and features the two and a Draco prominently. But the song transcends typical Detroit rap boilerplate to become an emotional journey into the past that’ll transfix even the most skeptical of listeners.

Keloyay and Poppa make great use of sensual dancers in the video for “See Dat Azz”

Published

on

In addition to dropping one of the hardest songs in recent history, Keloyay and Poppa enlist the help of some tantalizing dancers in the video for “See Dat Azz.” While the pair spit some hard verses to the trap production that will sound absolutely riveting in the club, three women of varying degrees of thickness (which we love by the way) shake in the background as distraction. While we zone in to the shaking on display, the song becomes background noise, and then we see it for what it is – something that strip club’s will eat up quickly.
