Freshmen: PayRoll (@FenkellPayroll)

At some point you have to separate the haves from the have nots. The haves, not only HAVE it, but people love to hate that they HAVE it. DoughBoyz CashOut Payroll happens to be one of the “Haves” in the city of Detroit. Some may argue that his raps are fabricated and a little far fetched but if you’re REALLY in the streets then you know that this kid is all if not more than what he boasts about in his music.
“I was told to have money, have heart”
4shoMag: Where did the name “PayRoll” come from?
PayRoll: It’s a long story I don’t really wanna go into, but it basically means being self made Im on my own payroll.
4shoMag: Growing up in Detroit is tough enough, but growing up in one of Detroit’s most dangerous & drug infested neighborhoods has to take a toll on you and make you feel some kind of way. How does growing up on Fenkell Ave. affect your outlook on life?
PayRoll: I’ve seen alot of shit coming up. It taught me to handle business and stay out the way. My advice is if it don’t involve money go home.
4shoMag: At what point did you realize “damn this rap sh*t is serious, my city really supports me.”
PayRoll: I peeped it at the point when we started getting alot of love at our shows, signing autographs at malls, girls screaming when they see us, real niggas giving props, etc. It’s a blessing!
4shoMag: What is the BEST song you think you’ve done to this date; either solo or with DoughBoyz CashOut?
PayRoll: That’s a hard question, but my favorites are “how it all started” and “the game made me”
“I remember being a little boy when ATF use to raid the crib while I play with toys”

4shoMag: Out of everyone in the group, who do you think is the wildest, The one that’s always doing some funny, off the wall, crazy stuff?
PayRoll: Fasho Kid! (laughs)
4shoMag: We see that you and DoughBoy Dre are the “chill” ones out of the bunch, in your opinion. who is the hot head out the group? Which one is always the one ready to pop some sh*t off?
PayRoll: Brightmo mothafuckin Roc! He’s a laid back smooth nigga but you fasho wanna stay on his good side! free Roc shoutout to Y.N.S too!
4shoMag: When it’s all said & done, what is it that you want out of this rap game, where are you trying to take this career?
PayRoll: I want the industry to see the REAL DETROIT and respect it. Just like Cash Money, Roc A Fella, and Etc. made their mark, we’re trying to make ours.
